No kidding, I'm with you on the frozen berries - tried, true and never any mold - not anything that I can see anyways! In the long run, perhaps it is more cost effective to buy frozen. So much waste having to dump the moldy bits.

i think it is because the bottom layer retains the moisture. not sure... just a theory.
Yes - that moisture absorbing paper liner doesn't seem to be doing its job. Or I'm not doing MY job and processing the berries straightaway.
As you know,I lead a somewhat humdrum existence - so those bottom layer moldy berries really exasperate me!
Hence the Grrrrrrr....
Blueberries?? This has happened to me more than once. I don't buy them anymore. Only frozen for this girl.
