Did I ever tell you that when I was living in France I found out that "barbapapa" means cotton candy? Technically, the term is "barbe a papa", which translates to mean "papa's beard". Cool, huh? I think the cartoon charactes are some kind of French phenomenon. Their American cousin must be Grimace from McDonald's!

I love Barbapapas! It was one of my favorite books as a kid. It was all about how the humans were killing the earth. Hmmm... Luckily, it was tucked amidst my old things in my folks attic. The way each of them had there own vocation was very Smurfy.
