Round. Circle. Ball. Sphere. x 50,000

Wish I could have seen this awesome art installation!
All those suspended little spheres! Awesome!
The piece is 'Atomic: Full of Love, Full of Wonder' and the artist is Nike Savvas.

That's her in the pic.

Reminds me of the amazing landscape projects at Cornerstone Gardens in Sonoma. My favorite was Pamala Burtons gash in the ground ~ using hay bales and a fish pond at the bottom. Very serene.

Can you imagine getting into the middle of a room with 50,000 suspended spheres, then trying to get out?

In the last decade or so, I've come to really enjoy art that is installed in a space where the viewer can interact with it, or be emcompassed by it. I also like to 'feel' myself in and around huge sculptural pieces that are often public art.

The Red Sweater Deployment Project (shown at the Hardware Store Gallery in San Francisco beginning September 2006: redsweater.org) promises to be a great piece of installation art. I'm looking forward to experiencing it!
